Where to find Natural Cosmetics in Mexico City

Updated April, 2026

When I first wrote this post in 2018, the options for finding genuinely good natural skincare in Mexico City were limited enough that I could count them on one hand. The situation has changed substantially. The market for clean, artisanal, and non-toxic beauty products has grown considerably, several excellent shops have opened, and Mexico City now has real answers — not workarounds — for people who care what goes on their skin.

I’ve updated this post to reflect where things stand now. One of the original recommendations, Balmoria in Roma Norte, has closed. Everything else here is current, and there are several additions that have become genuine favorites.

Olivine

Olivine remains the best answer in the city for luxury-level clean beauty. It started as an online shop — which saved me during the pandemic, when travel to the U.S. to restock was not possible — and has since opened a physical store in Polanco, in a beautiful building that also houses a Thai restaurant, Manaw (worth a stop if you’re craving curry), and other boutiques.

The selection covers the international brands that matter most in this space: Tata HarperVintner’s DaughterDr. Augustinus BaderDr. Barbara Sturm. On the makeup side, KosasWestman Atelier, and La Bouche Rouge from Paris. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. If you are looking for specific international clean beauty brands and want to be able to try before you buy, this is the place.

Botica Natural

Botica Natural is the addition I’m most excited to include. It opened in the Condesa during the pandemic, founded by Claudia León, who also created Botanicus — one of the better-known Mexican natural skincare brands. The concept is a curated collective: more than twenty natural cosmetics brands, all Mexican, all made by women, sharing a single beautifully designed space.

The selection covers skincare, body care, hair care, fragrances, and some makeup — the categories that are hardest to find well-made and non-toxic. There is a refill station for products sold by weight, a tea room (T.time) if you want to slow down mid-visit, and staff who will walk you through the brands and help you find what you’re looking for. It is the closest thing the city has to the kind of dedicated natural beauty shop that exists in major European or U.S. cities, except that the products are all Mexican.

It is also worth knowing: Botica Natural is located on Mazatlán, in the Condesa, which puts it a few blocks from The Green Corner’s Condesa location. The two make a natural pairing for the same errand.

Ikal

Ikal is a concept store, not a cosmetics shop — it sells clothing, jewelry, home goods, and objects by independent Mexican and Latin American designers. It is also one of the best stores in the city for exactly the kind of browsing that produces unexpected finds. The cosmetics shelf has always been a small part of a larger offering, and what it carries rotates.

In previous versions of this post I could tell you exactly which brands were stocked; at this point, the honest answer is that it depends on when you visit. What I can say is that their curation is thoughtful and that the skincare brands they have carried — For All FolksNaked LabEdena — have been consistently good. It is worth stopping in, especially if you are already in Polanco. There are now three locations: the original on Masaryk, a newer outpost at Antara Fashion Hall, and one on Havre in the Juárez.

Azaphran

Azaphran is online only — no physical store — but it earns a place here for readers who are shopping for delivery or who want to research before visiting in person. It is an online marketplace curated specifically around natural beauty products from small Mexican producers. The founders review every ingredient before a product goes into the catalog, which does a lot of the vetting work for you.

The range covers skincare, hair care, body care, and some makeup. Useful if you are looking for something specific and can’t find it in a physical store, or if you are not in Mexico City. Delivery covers the whole country.

A note on The Green Corner: this is primarily an organic grocery chain, but several locations carry a range of natural personal care products including body care and some cosmetics. If you are already shopping there for food (see the companion post on organic grocery stores), it is worth looking at the personal care aisle. Condesa, Roma, and Coyoacán locations tend to have the best selection.

Are there shops or brands I’ve missed? Leave a comment — this post gets updated.

    1. Hi Jana! I’m sorry to say that I don’t know of a place. I will try to look into it though, and let you know if I find something!

  1. Your blog is excellent! Thank you for all the incredible recommendations. Do you have any insight into Guadalajara?

    1. Thank you so much! I am happy it is useful. Unfortunately, I have spent very little time in Guadalajara, and most of that time I was very busy with work and didn’t have any time to explore. If there is something specific you are looking for though I would be happy to ask around and see what I can learn!
